Legal Counsel (Specialist)

We're seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team in Istanbul. In this role, you will report directly to our General Counsel and will find various opportunities to collaborate with our company’s local and global business leaders. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law
• Excellent command of English language skills on professional level
• Minimum of 4-5 years of legal experience preferably in insurance and private pension industry
• Mastery in corporate law with a focus on commercial contracts, transactions and corporate governance
• Experience in multiple areas such as Insurance and Private Pension Law, Commercial Law, Company Law, Competition Law, Personal Data Protection Law and Corporate Advisory realms
• Strong understanding of assessing, negotiating and advising on complex legal matters and/or high value risks
• Proficient in MS Office programs.

Responsibilities:

• Assess risks for the company’s governance, operation, and transaction, take proactive legal measures to safeguard company’s interests and prevent disputes,
• Provide legal consultancy and support to top management and company’s business functions on a wide range of legal matters related to Insurance and Private Pension Law, Commercial Law, Company Law, Competition Law and Personal Data Protection Law
• Draft, review and revise contracts and legal documents ensuring compliance with relevant legislations and company policies
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support corporate decision-making and strategy
• Monitor and analyze legislative changes to ensure company’s legal compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed on specialized legal matters
• Support General Counsel in preparation and follow-ups of the Corporate Secretarial Services such as General Assembly Meetings and Board of Directors and relevant committee meetings including the necessary “Mersis” procedures

Participate in regular calls, meetings, and workshops convened by broader legal team within the Zurich Group, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
